An End
Service Request Form must be completed in order to discontinue
service. The individual who is responsible for the account must be
the person requesting service to be ended. The account clerk will
give the customer a confirmation number for verification purposes and
for any future questions that may arise. A final reading will be
retrieved on the specified date, and any final balance will be taken
from the meter deposit originally paid on the account. A
forwarding address is required in order to mail the remaining amount of
the deposit to the customer. This procedure can take up to two
weeks to process.
If you are ending service for a
deceased individual, a copy of the death certificate and/or executor of
estate must be provided before the meter deposit can be refunded into an
individual's name other than the name on the account.
